Don’t Let Your Limitations Silence Your Calling

There are moments in life when God places something on your heart—something you know you’re supposed to do, say, or step into.
And almost immediately… the thoughts begin:
“I can’t. ”I’m not qualified. ”I’m not good enough. ”Someone else could do this better.”
But what if those limitations aren’t disqualifications?
What if they are actually the very place where God wants to reveal His strength?
When Weakness Meets God’s Strength
The apostle Paul the Apostle spoke openly about a struggle he called a “thorn in the flesh.” He asked God to take it away—but God didn’t remove it.
Instead, God responded:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV)
That changes how we see weakness.
God didn’t say, “Fix yourself first, then I’ll use you. "He said, “My strength will be revealed through your weakness.”
God Has Always Used Imperfect People
When we look through Scripture, we see a pattern:
Moses said he was slow of speech, yet God chose him to confront Pharaoh.
Paul the Apostle was described as unimpressive in person, yet his letters changed the world.
Jeremiah used a scribe to record his words.
Many of the apostles were considered uneducated, yet they carried the gospel across nations.
Luke the Evangelist, a physician and educated man, helped document and support the work of others.
God doesn’t require perfection—He works through availability and obedience.
God Uses Tools, People, and Process
Sometimes we think God will remove every obstacle before we move forward.
But often, God doesn’t remove the limitation—He provides a way through it.
He may give you:
A tool
A person to help
A new opportunity
A different method than you expected
Think about it—Jeremiah didn’t stop because he needed a scribe. He used what God provided.
The calling didn’t change. The method adapted.
A Personal Testimony of Overcoming
Many people don’t know this, but I struggled with learning disabilities growing up. It became overwhelming to the point that I dropped out of high school.
That could have been the end of the story.
But God placed opportunities and tools in my path. I went back, earned my GED, and eventually went to college—and graduated with honors.
Not because the struggle instantly disappeared…
…but because God gave me a way to overcome it.
Some things, like dyslexia, God has brought healing to.
Other challenges are still there.
But they no longer define what I can or cannot do for Him.
When God Corrects Our Thinking
At one point, someone told me:
“If you can’t say it well out loud, maybe it shouldn’t be said.”
That sounds logical—but it wasn’t what God said.
God began to correct my thinking.
He reminded me:
“If I gave you something to say, use whatever means you need to get it out.”
That changes everything.
Because now it’s not about how perfect the delivery is…It’s about obedience to what He spoke.
Your Limitation Is Not the End
If God has placed something on your heart:
Don’t wait until you feel ready. Don’t wait until every weakness disappears. Don’t wait until you look like someone else.
Move forward.
God will supply:
What you need
When you need it
In the way you need it
He may not remove the weakness…
…but He will reveal His strength through it.
Final Encouragement
Your limitation is not your disqualification.
It may actually be the very place where God wants to show His power the most.
So take the step.
Speak the word. Do the thing. Follow the calling.
Because when you are weak… He is strong.
