Let It Burn: You Were Never Meant to Hide the Fire

Have you ever noticed that fire never stays in one place?

If a fire is truly burning, it spreads. It gives warmth, provides light, and changes everything it touches. No one has to teach fire how to spread—that is simply its nature.

The same is true for a believer whose heart is on fire for Jesus.

One of the questions we should regularly ask ourselves is this:

If someone watched my life, would they see the fire of Christ?

Not because we are loud or trying to impress people, but because genuine love for Jesus naturally overflows into the way we live, speak, and care for others.

People on Fire Share the Fire

Think about the things people get excited about.

A new job.A new relationship.A new baby.A favorite sports team.

People naturally talk about what they love.

So why would it be any different with Jesus?

When Christ has truly transformed our lives, sharing Him should not feel like a burden. It becomes the natural response of a grateful heart. We aren't simply sharing information—we're sharing the greatest thing that has ever happened to us.

The prophet Jeremiah described God's Word as "a burning fire shut up in my bones" (Jeremiah 20:9). He couldn't remain silent because the fire inside him demanded expression.

That same fire still burns in believers today.

Hasn't God Already Done Enough?

Sometimes we find ourselves praying, "Lord, if You'll just do one more thing, then I'll really be passionate."

But pause for a moment.

Hasn't He already done enough?

He forgave our sins.

He gave us mercy instead of judgment.

He adopted us into His family.

He defeated death.

He gave us eternal hope.

He promised never to leave us.

He filled us with His Holy Spirit.

When we stop and remember everything Christ has already done, gratitude begins to fuel our passion. The fire often grows dim not because God has stopped working, but because we've forgotten His goodness.

David understood this when he wrote:

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." (Psalm 103:2)

Remembering God's faithfulness rekindles our hearts.

Your Testimony Has Power

Revelation 12:11 tells us:

"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."

Notice that God chose to include both.

The blood of Jesus purchased our victory, but our testimony declares His victory to the world.

Every time you tell someone what Jesus has done in your life, hope is released.

Someone struggling with fear may hear that Christ gave you peace.

Someone trapped in addiction may discover that freedom is possible.

Someone who believes they are beyond God's grace may realize there is still hope for them.

Never underestimate what God can do through your story.

The Fire Is Already in You

Many believers pray for God to send His fire.

Yet Scripture tells us that if we belong to Christ, His Spirit already lives within us.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came with tongues of fire. Paul later encouraged Timothy to "fan into flame the gift of God" (2 Timothy 1:6).

Notice what Paul did not say.

He didn't tell Timothy to find a new gift.

He told him to stir up what had already been given.

The Holy Spirit has already placed His presence within every believer. The question is not whether the fire exists—it is whether we are feeding it.

Prayer fuels the fire.

God's Word fuels the fire.

Worship fuels the fire.

Obedience fuels the fire.

The more we pursue Christ, the brighter that fire becomes.

Every Believer Is Called to Share

One of the greatest misconceptions in the church is that evangelism belongs only to evangelists.

While not everyone has the spiritual gift of evangelism, every believer has been called to be a witness.

Paul told Timothy:

"Do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." (2 Timothy 4:5)

Your family needs your testimony.

Your workplace needs your testimony.

Your neighbors need your testimony.

The people God has placed in your life may never attend a church service—but they know you.

You don't need to know the answer to every question.

You simply need to tell people what Jesus has done for you.

Don't Hide the Light

Jesus said that no one lights a lamp only to hide it under a basket (Matthew 5:15).

The purpose of light is to be seen.

In the same way, the purpose of God's work in your life is not to remain hidden. The world is desperate for hope, and Christ has chosen to shine His light through ordinary people filled with His extraordinary Spirit.

You don't have to be famous.

You don't need a large platform.

You don't need all the answers.

You simply need to let your light shine where God has already placed you.

A Final Encouragement

Our ministry is called New Fire Ministries, and that name is more than a title—it is a reminder of our calling.

God has not called us to quietly exist while the world grows darker.

He has called us to carry His light.

He has placed His fire within us.

So remember what He has done.

Share your testimony.

Love people well.

Speak the truth with grace.

And wherever God sends you this week...

Let it burn.
