When Trouble Comes… So Does Provision

Life has a way of catching us off guard.

Scripture never hides that truth from us. In fact, Jesus said in John 16:33 that we will have trouble in this world—but He also tells us to take heart, because He has overcome the world. That means trouble is guaranteed… but so is His presence.

Recently, I had one of those moments that brought that truth to life.

The Unexpected Moment

On my way to a men’s breakfast, I heard a loud bang in the back of my truck. It caught my attention, but I was already close to where I needed to be, so I kept going.

After breakfast, I walked outside and saw the problem—my right rear tire had completely blown out.

Now, situations like that can easily turn stressful. Time, money, inconvenience… all the usual thoughts start rushing in. But what unfolded next was a reminder that God is not surprised by anything we face.

Provision in the Middle of the Problem

What stood out most wasn’t just the flat tire—it was everything around it.

I wasn’t alone. My brother Tim stayed with me, helped me through it, and we spent time talking and connecting in a way that probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Sometimes God uses problems to build relationships.

Then came the bigger realization: the timing.

We haven’t had much extra financially, yet this happened at the exact moment we had just enough to handle it. Not only that, but instead of replacing just one tire, we were able to take care of all four—on the same day—and for less than what we expected to pay months down the road.

That’s not coincidence. That’s provision.

God Already Knows

Moments like this remind us of something powerful: God already knows what’s coming.

Before the problem shows up, He’s already made a way through it.

Sometimes the provision isn’t obvious ahead of time. Sometimes it doesn’t show up until the moment you need it. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t already there—it just means we’re seeing it in His timing, not ours.

Equipped for What We Face

We often pray for God to remove problems, but many times He chooses instead to equip us to walk through them.

  • He provides the people we need

  • He aligns the timing perfectly

  • He makes sure the resources are there

Not always early. Not always the way we expect. But always right on time.

A Reminder for Today

If you’re walking through something difficult right now, don’t lose heart.

Trouble will come—but it never comes alone.

God is with you in it, and more than that, He’s already working around you. The provision, the help, the strength—it’s there, even if you don’t fully see it yet.

Stay patient. Stay aware. Trust His timing.

Because when the moment comes, you may just realize… He had everything covered all along.

“In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 (NKJV)
